Our Legal System Does Work
It started as a fight outside a bar and ended in a horrible and life altering tragedy. A jury handed down a multi-million dollar verdict for our client, Joshua Mathews, who was not involved in the fight but was catastrophically injured by the brawl occurring between other intoxicated patrons around closing time. Pete’s Bar and its owners and employees are good people who feel terrible about what happened. None of this was intentional. We all wish we could turn back the clock so this would not have happened.
Our client was just trying to help but he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was punched in the face and fell to the ground hitting his head on the concrete. He was in a coma for more than two months. He suffered a traumatic brain injury. He cannot walk without assistance. He can only speak a few words. We are hopeful this verdict will give him the chance for the top medical treatment and physical therapy. Our client would do anything to have his life back. He would love to be able to play golf again, work again, enjoy the simple things we all take for granted.
Our legal system does work. It cannot undo this tragedy but it can bring a measure of justice.
