Here in Jacksonville, we are blessed to have such a beautiful canopy from all our trees. However, what is beautiful can sometimes also pose a hidden danger.
For example, it was a frightening scene on Jacksonville’s South side Monday when large trees came crashing down during a storm, trapping a woman and her young son in their car.
Fortunately, they survived without serious injuries. But this should serve as a reminder to all of us to be sure the trees on our property and surrounding areas are healthy and not in danger of toppling down.
The Law Firm of Pajcic & Pajcic has handled many cases involving trees, including one where a rotting tree branch fell on a beautiful, sunny day and hit a local teenager leaving him paralyzed.
During a storm, old rotting trees become even more dangerous. In Monday’s incident, the falling trees also clipped power lines leaving a potentially deadly combination of live electric lines and wet roads.
